au/KDDI numbers in Japan

For a number connected with Japan, au/KDDI gives the page a clear local operator identity and a practical route to verification. Numbers are presented with the +81 country code. This is useful for a separate sign-up, a short project, or an account that should not expose a personal phone number. Through SmsWays you can receive an SMS on this au/KDDI number or rent the line when access is needed for longer.

au/KDDI virtual number in Japan on SmsWays for SMS verification and number rental
Japan, country code +81. Receive an SMS or rent a au/KDDI number for 7, 14 or 30 days.

An au/KDDI number can be used when a site requests SMS verification, account registration, or a one-time password and a supported offer is shown below. No particular app is promised on this page: availability should be checked in the current cards before starting. After choosing an option, enter the assigned number in the relevant form and wait for the code in the SmsWays account. A one-time SMS is charged only after the message arrives, so an unused order does not become a completed activation. A temporary phone number therefore keeps a single confirmation apart from a personal line.

Renting the au/KDDI line is the better fit when the same app may send another text after the first code. Choose 7 days for a short task, 14 days for a longer setup, or 30 days when the account must remain reachable through the month. Messages received during the selected period remain associated with the rented number, avoiding the uncertainty of trying to recover a one-time activation later. The rental cards below show what is currently offered; select the period that matches the expected verification cycle rather than paying for time that the project will not use.

Creating an account takes about a minute, and the balance is topped up with cryptocurrency before an order is placed. The price cards below open registration with Japan and au/KDDI already selected, reducing the chance of ordering the wrong region or network. For comparison, nearby operator pages include NTT Docomo, Rakuten. You can also review all Japan numbers when the operator is flexible. For services that reject internet telephony ranges, compare non-VoIP numbers and always follow the receiving platform’s own terms. The selected number is intended for receiving verification texts; it is not a replacement for a full personal mobile subscription.

Read the full FAQ
What is a rented number?

A number reserved for your account alone for 7, 14 or 30 days. It receives every SMS sent to it, from any app, for the whole term — useful for accounts you want to keep, logins that ask for a code again, or services that verify twice.

Can a rented number receive SMS from any app?

Yes. Unlike a one-time activation, a rental is not tied to one service. Every incoming SMS appears in your account's inbox for that number, with its sender and its time.

What happens when the term ends?

The number goes back to the network's pool and can be given to someone else later. Renew before the end date to keep it — renewal is always your decision, nothing renews on its own.

Can I make calls or send SMS from a rented number?

No. Rented numbers receive SMS only: no outgoing messages and no voice calls. Keep that in mind before using one for a service that expects to call you.

Is it a real mobile number or a VoIP line?

The numbers are mobile numbers on carrier networks in each country, which is why they pass the "non-VoIP" checks that many apps run. Some routes are resold lines rather than a SIM in a single handset — each network shows its measured delivery rate so you can see how well it works before paying.

Do I need to verify my identity?

No. There is no ID upload, no selfie and no phone number of your own to give. An email address and a password are the whole sign-up — use an address you can open, since it is how you reset a forgotten password.

Only need one code?

A one-time number is cheaper for a single verification — from $0.10, charged only when the code arrives.
